About Me
Dear Esteemed Visitor! A Warm Welcome To My Website.
I love making such photographs that create shining moments of connection. I find profound happiness and peace in capturing the images of ordinary things, ignored by many others, and bringing out the nature’s hidden beauty in them. I hope, my images help you connect with that beauty too.
I learned the basics of photography during my college education and started it as a hobby. So, after acquiring a B.Sc degree, I explored the possibilities to join this field professionally. Luckily, I soon got a chance to work as press-photographer in a popular newspaper of my city.
In next about 10 years, I also worked as a studio, portrait, product and feature photographer. Then during my homeland’s turmoil period, I tried to go abroad. Fortune smiled upon me . So, I got a decent job in ARAMCO — Arabian American Oil Company– in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia in March 1980.
During my second year at ARAMCO, I bought a couple of latest cameras and some photo accessories. Simultaneously, I undertook 2 years correspondence course of Professional Photography from New York Institute of photography, which I completed within 10 months and got a certificate. I also became an active member of photographic club of Aramco, contributing to various captivating contests.
I worked in Aramco for 11 years until April 1991. Subsequently, I spend couple of years in Islamabad Pakistan with my beloved family. Then, I got a desire to explore the United States. So, after permission from my family, I applied for a visa, got it approved and reached New York.
There, I found that professional photography was a highly competitive field. So, I had to choose different jobs to make my living, but I always remained in touch with the progress in photography field. I resided for about 6 years in New York and a further 11 years in Chicago, punctuated by intermittent reunions with my loved ones.
The year 2010 marked a significant juncture as I turned 60, sparking an urge to return to my familial roots. After some necessary planning, I left America for good in Sep 2011 and came back to Islamabad to spend rest of my life alongside my dear family. Before leaving, I bought a couple of affordable digital cameras and accessories to satisfy my photography passion.
For half a decade, my focus was primarily on familial responsibilities, and could not think of doing anything noticeable in photography. However, a photography event sparked the flames in me to do something again in photography. So, I thought hard and decided to do something special . . . something different from other professional photographers. So, with an aim, I learned photoshop and other latest photo techniques and from time to time, started shooting pictures with special ideas. Now I have a large collection of my photography which I proudly displayed in this website www.AsmPhotoArt.com . I am proud that every aspect of this website is a labor of love , painstakingly crafted by my own hands.
Thank you for joining me on this creative journey. I hope you enjoy my photos and that they bring a little extra beauty to your day.
With heartfelt gratitude,
A.S.Mansoor
